This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies we use on pawsai.health, why we use them, and how you can control them.

2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed in your browser by websites you visit. They serve a variety of purposes: remembering that you are signed in, storing your preferences, and — with your consent — helping us understand how the app is used.
Cookies can be first-party (set by pawsai.health directly) or third-party (set by services we use, such as analytics tools). We also use browser localStorage as a similar storage mechanism for preferences that do not need to expire with a browser session.
3. Cookie categories on pawsai.health
We use three categories of cookies and storage:

Essential — always active. Required for the service to function. These cannot be disabled.

Analytics — require your consent. Used to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Only loaded after you grant analytics consent via the cookie banner.

Advertising — require your consent. Used to serve relevant ads to keep the service free. Currently paused — no advertising cookies are loaded. This category will take effect only after ads are reactivated and you have given explicit opt-in.
On your first visit to pawsai.health, a cookie consent banner gives you the choice to accept, reject, or customise which categories you allow. You can change your preferences at any time (see Section 5).
4. Detailed cookie inventory
Essential (always active):

sb-* (Supabase) — keeps you signed in to your account. Provider: Supabase Inc. Duration: up to 7 days. Category: Essential.
•
pawsai-consent-v1 (PawsAI) — stores your cookie preference choice so the consent banner does not reappear on every visit. Provider: PawsAI Health. Duration: persists until manually cleared. Category: Essential.
•
pawsai-anon-id (PawsAI) — anonymous identifier used solely for the consent audit log (allows us to link a pre-sign-in consent record to your account for GDPR Data Subject Access Request purposes). Provider: PawsAI Health. Duration: persists until manually cleared. Category: Essential.
Analytics (consent required):
•
ph_phc_*, posthog-*, __ph_opt_in_out_* (PostHog) — product analytics used to understand feature usage and improve the service. Loaded only after analytics consent is granted. Provider: PostHog Inc. (posthog.com). Duration: up to 1 year. Category: Analytics. No IP addresses are collected.
Advertising (consent required, currently paused):

No advertising cookies are currently loaded. When Google AdSense is reactivated, third-party cookies such as __gads, NID, and IDE may be set by Google when the Advertising category is enabled. This list will be updated before advertising is activated.
5. How to manage your cookie preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using any of the following:

Via the 'Cookie preferences' link in the website footer (visible on the welcome/landing page)

Via the 'Manage cookie preferences' option in your Settings sheet (when signed in)
•
Via your browser's built-in settings to delete or block cookies; note that blocking essential cookies (sb-* session cookies) will prevent you from staying signed in
6. Third-party services
The only third-party services that set cookies or access stored data on pawsai.health are:
•
PostHog Inc. (United States) — analytics. Privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy. Data Processing Agreement: posthog.com/dpa. Used only when analytics consent is granted.
•
Google LLC (United States) — advertising via Google AdSense, currently paused. Privacy notice: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Will only be activated with your explicit advertising consent.
We do not use any other third-party tracking, retargeting, or social-media pixel technologies.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Material changes will trigger a new consent prompt via the cookie banner. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
